Sue and Dave’s Lake District Wedding Photography Merewood Country House Hotel

Merewood Country House Hotel is set in a elevated position and overlooking Windermere, England’s longest lake.

The hotel dates back to 1812, and has retained much of its historical charm with many of the original features
lovingly restored, including the panelled hall and reception.
Steeped in elegance and history, this magnificent house is big enough to feel grand but still small enough
to be intimate and relaxed too.  The beautiful interiors and fabulous Lake District views make wonderful
backdrops for your photographs

As soon

as you step through the front door of this beautiful country house, you’ll discover an oasis of comfort,
warmth and relaxation.

It was a cool crisp November day

when I met up with Sue and her three bridesmaids for some getting ready photographs.
The girls were very relaxed and enjoying the morning which makes great photos, I found all Sue’s special jewellery,
tiara and shoes and photographed them as well as all the dresses.

The ceremony room

looked beautiful and has wonderful views towards the lake. All the guests were seated and waiting
for Sue to make her entrance she looked beautiful as she walked down the aisle with her brother. The ceremony was
lovely and Sue’s Auntie read a very moving reading. After the ceremony, drinks and canapes were served in the hallway and bar.

There was live music throughout day played by The Distance

Sue and Dave

had requested to go to the jetty at Waterhead for some photo’s by the lake so after all the formal and
family photographs were done we drove up to the lake.  The weather was chilly but dry and the view down the lake and towards
The Langdales was stunning.

The restaurant was ready

for the wedding breakfast when we got back so I took some shots of the tables, setting, favours
and the all important wedding cake. Sue and Dave were shown around the room by Helen the wedding coordinator and master
of ceremonies. There were some heartfelt speeches as there were special members of the families not at the wedding.
My final duty of the day was to photograph the cutting of the wonderful wedding cake
