Katie & Mark’s Wedding Photography at The Burnside
When I arrived
at The Burnside Katie and her bridesmaid were busy doing the final touches to their hair and make up. Katie’s friend arrived a little later to do Katie’s nails with a very sparkly nail varnish , they looked so pretty. Katie and Mark were aiming for a very relaxed and informal wedding with very little fuss.
Katie and her bridesmaid’s
dresses were the same knee length dress, one was white and one yellow, and the girls were wearing Adidas trainers they both looked beautiful. My second shooter was already downstairs getting some photo’s of the groom and all the guests who were all in the ceremony room.
This room is beautiful,
and boasts a beautiful bay window overlooking Windermere, and the decoration is great for photography plenty of natural light and mirrors.
After the ceremony
the couple led everyone into the hallway for drinks, there is a lovely staircase and fire place in this part of the hotel. The bride and groom made an entrance down the staircase to join their guests, this was a perfect time to get the all important large group shot. After drinks some guests went onto the terrace and some into the bar. We shadowed the couple to get some shots of them with them chatting and laughing with their family and friends.
Katie and Mark did not want
too many formal shots only immediate family so we went outside onto the front terrace so we could see the lake in the background. I suggested we go to the back of the hotel where it was quieter for some special shots of just the two of them and their beautiful daughter.
The theme of the wedding was yellow so when we went to photograph the tables and wedding cake there were beautiful sunflowers on all the tables and the lovely wedding cake. The room looked amazing so bright and colourful.
