Situated at the southern end of the Lake District and a part of the Witherslack Estate. This is a very popular area for wildlife enthusiasts and walkers, The estate also boasts glorious mixed broad leaf woodlands with several Sites of Special Scientific Interest.
Of the estates 2000 acres 750 are wooded, since the Iron Age firewood has been cut and processed here . The woods have recently been returned to profitable coppice production. They now heat the house and surrounding buildings by feeding a biomass boiler. The front of the grand house is approached via a beech lined driveway . Perfect for wedding photographs.

The traditional summerhouse which is listed provides a stunning backdrop, You can accommodate a marquee on the lawns and the master bedroom is a delight for any bride as a dressing room for the big day. The generously sized house can accommodate eleven in its four spacious bedrooms. The bathrooms which are all original have been retained and add to the charm of your stay, also the view from the loo is hard to beat
Halecat is a house designed for living in.No one minds muddy boots or happy dogs.
However if the weather is poor and you would rather stay indoors, you’ll find comfy sofas, a library full of interesting books, a piano for a singalong , board games aplenty and it goes without saying a warm hearth with a real fire.
