Faye and Dan’s Faye and Dan’s Kirkby Lonsdale wedding photography
St Mary’s Church and Kirkby Lonsdale Rugby Club
It was a very damp start
to the morning of Faye and Dan’s wedding. I dropped my second shooter off at the couples home. The groom and his groomsmen were getting themselves and the two trucks ready there.I continued on to Faye’s mums house in Kirkby Lonsdale. The hairdresser and make up artist were busy with two of the bridesmaids.
The flowers had arrived, the florist at The Buttonhole is very talented and the bouquets and flower girls head dresses looked beautiful.
When all the girls were ready Faye’s friend Laura and Jessica sister of the bride went to help Faye get into her bridal gown which was stunning. None of the other bridesmaids had seen the dress so they were waiting in the lounge for Faye to come down stairs for the big reveal and they all said how beautiful Faye looked.
Faye,her father and the bridesmaids
were walking to St Mary’s Church which is also known as Kirkby Lonsdale Parish Church. The Church of St Mary the Virgin is Norman in origin probably built between 1093 and 1130, although there was an old Saxon Church on the site before. The church displays a range of architectural styles, some dating from the early 12th century. The north aisle has three magnificent Norman columns, similar to ones in Durham Cathedral, with a diamond pattern on the stone. These represent an era of extensive church building and re-building, in contrast to the remaining less ornate columns. The first pillar has a carving of ‘The Green Man’, with foliage emerging from the mouth.
The ceremony was lovely
with two readings and two lovely hymns. The vicar only allowed us to photograph from the back of the church but did allow photographs signing the register. Then the bride and groom led
everyone and we were able to get a great confetti shot. When all the family and formal photographs had been taken it was time to go to the Rugby Club. Faye and Dan had a very unusual mode of transport one of Dan’s Scania Trucks, after a little help from Dan Faye managed climb into the cab.
Kirkby Lonsdale Rugby Club is situated on Raygarth, where Dan is a member of the rugby team http://www.klrufc.co.uk/
The couple had hired a Master of Ceremonies Mr Michael Glen, to help make the day run
smoothly. The catering for the wedding breakfast was done by The Longlands Hotel https://www.longlandshotel.co.uk/
and Plato’s https://www.platoskirkbylonsdale.co.uk/
The marquee looked beautiful and had been dressed perfectly, and there were 4 wedding cakes so plenty for everyone. The speeches were before the meal so then everyone could relax and enjoy their food. After the food there was a Bucking Bronco for the brave to have a go, and see who could stay on the longest this looked great fun and Dan was first to have a go. Dan had made some beautiful props for the wedding some lovely LOVE letters, and a great photo booth, with lots of props for everyone to share and take some fun photos.
At 7.00 the evening guests started to arrive and there was a great atmosphere, and everyone was ready for first dance and the party to start.
